I have enjoyed painting from an early age.  As a mature age student, I was fortunate to be accepted to hone my skills as an artist at the School of Colour and Design and at the National Art School, Sydney.
I would describe my work as a mix of realism and impressionism with an element of fantasy.  I use my imaginatiion to interpret observed real life scenes.  I am never short of ideas as I find beauty and a hidden story in the ordinary.  My preferred medium is “gouache” because it is challenging and which requires a greater attention to detail and finer execution.  Recently, I have enjoyed working on smaller scale works in acrylics in a freer style.
I am based in the Huon Valley with my partner and a rescued wolf-hound, where I practice my art whilst also renovating a 1910 cottage and taming a sadly neglected garden and paddock.
