I have lived in the Huon Valley for over 50 years and drawing since a little girl mainly in charcoal and pastels with a focus on portraits of people, animals and birds.  Recently my fascination has switched to scratchboard as a very effective medium for depicting our wonderful Tasmanian wildlife.

Scratchboard is an etching medium, masonite or cardboard which is covered by a layer of white clay that is sprayed with black ink.  By scratching with sharp tools to expose the white clay underneath, the resulting image appears as a striking negative artwork.
